Decided that the old Water3 theme was getting a bit long in the tooth (not to mention I see it everytime I read Random Curiosity), so looked around and found this new theme, Praggio. Kind of funny that the Echelon website went from red to blue, while my own blog did the reverse. Anyway, reasonably happy with this look, though the header banner definitely will need a full redo when I find the time for it.

And WP-Cumulus is quite cool – it’s the plugin that makes the neat spherical Tags/Categories chooser on the left.

AudioSurf is quite possibly the best $10 game I’ve ever played. Available on Steam, it’s more or less Guitar Hero meets WipeOut, and since you can use any song in one of many formats, it has infinite replayability. I suck at every mode except Mono though. -_-

Saw Iron Man. Twice. It’s absolutely awesome, and definitely falls into the top tiers of comic book adaptation movies. I might even say it’s better than Batman Begins, and that’s a pretty tall order. But The Dark Knight comes out this summer too, so we’ll see. But Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark is just brilliant. Can’t wait for the follow ups!

Quite a lot of high-profile movies this year. After Iron Man, there’s also Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Speed Racer, WALL-E, the aforementioned The Dark Knight… looks to be a good summer for movies.

Oh, and upgraded WordPress to 2.5. Works alright, I guess…

Or maybe not. But after putting it off for quite some time, finally got around to uploading those 4GB or so worth of photos. Not without snags, of course (damn you, Time Warner), but it’s mostly all there, though I still need to go through it and make sure.

Looking through those pictures though, really gives me some mixed feelings. There are so many great moments and experiences in those photos, but also so many memories that only serve to bring a sharp pain to my heart whenever I think of them…

As cool/nerdy/geeky as it is to run my own web server off my own internet connection… it leaves a lot to be desired on the performance and reliability front. It still has its uses of course (mainly to share stuff with people easily), but I thought the time has come to finally get me a real host, so it’s not a crapshoot whenever I feel like accessing/editing it.

And also needed a host to put the website for my WoW guild on, so I figured I’d kill two birds with one stone and get it now. So here it is, gokieks dot com. Yay.

I’m annoyed, however, that some jackass/jackasses (I’m looking at you, Greenlight Properties in Charlotte, NC) decided to buy the old domain I had used, gokie.com. I had always thought my blog/homepage of randomness wasn’t worth the trouble of anyone stealing, so I had let it lapse when I had been more focused on other things during the past year or two. But guess I was wrong.

Oh well, I’m fine with this. I’ll see about doing some more page design updates soon, since this gives me a (temporary) bout of inspiration. That or I’ll end up spending my time AFK in Shatt, reading random news of geeky things, or playing Wii Sports Tennis instead. ^^
