Biography

Who am I? A self-professed technophile and information junkie who’s taken a keen interest in all too many things, with a suffering wallet being the consequence.

I was born in 1985 in Beijing, China, where I lived until I was the age of five. Both of my parents had came to the US by that point, and I joined them in the twin cities of Minnesota, where I stayed for just shy of two years. After that, I was sent back to live with my grandparents (father’s side) in Xiamen, China with the task of learning Chinese. Stayed there until the end of 5th grade, skipping 4th along the way (so now you know why I’m practically always the youngest among my peers. ^_~), then came back to the US. Lived in Omaha, Nebraska for about three years, during which I became a baptized non-denominational Christian (those where the impressionable years – I’ve since become an agnostic) and took up a keener interest in watching sports, football in particular.

At the beginning of my high school years, my parents, both of whom were then working at the same company, were transferred to Dallas, where the new company headquarters are located. So down I came, from the land of corn and beef to the land of “everything is bigger here”. We had purchased a house (or rather, had one built) in Coppell, a booming small suburb in north Dallas, with a supposedly excellent school system (hey, Chinese parents – education is always first priority. ^^) And so there is was where I spent my high school years.

After I graduated from Coppell High School, I started attending the University of Texas Austin. A lot of things have happened since then, but I eventually left Austin and am now at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI.
